Summer Travels with Three plus One

In past years Ryan has complained that he never has anyone to play with when we take long trips over the summer. It's especially hard for him since the girls are always together. This year we decided to bring his best friend, Brandon, with us. The trip turned out to be longer than we had originally planned because we couldn't coordinate an intermediate pick-up weekend with everyone's schedules. Brandon got homesick at night after the first 3 days, but was a real trooper over the 10 day trip. And they both had a great time together during the days.

It was a great idea to have a friend along, but I think we'll have to keep the duration shorter if we try it again next year so that Ryan can still get some one-on-one time with Granddad.
