Father & Son
Even though Kevin coaches Ryan in both basketball and baseball, there is something special to me about watching them on the baseball field. I'm not sure what it is that makes it feel different. Their shared intensity? Knowing that this is Kevin's favorite sport? Observing Kevin's pride in Ryan's accomplishment? Or maybe it's just that I enjoy baseball more than the other sports. Whatever it is, it adds a whole different dimension to watching them at play.

I'm sure it is "all of the above," but along with it, I would think it is the entire "father/son" relationship that is so so important for all of a boy's life. Ryan so admires his dad and so wants to please him. Even so,I believe Ryan's love of baseball is not just because it's his dad's favorite sport; I believe he also loves it. They bond at these times, then it spills over into how they relate off the field. Mom
