What They Don't Tell You

When you hear that you're going to have twins, all kinds of thoughts run through your head: "How am I going to handle 2 babies? How am I going to pay for 2 kids in college at the same time?" And you are prepared for some types of issues, like how to deal with multiple feedings, the expense of lots of diapers, sibling rivalry, the joy of having two who are sharing their life development, etc.

What they don't tell you is how some day they're not going to want to have the same kind of birthday party. And that this can be a pretty big issue since they share the same birthday. This year, Olivia was fairly adamant about wanting an animal-themed party. And Katelyn was equally insistant that the party be more fancy, and girly, and maybe a tea party. So. We had a Fancy Animal Tea Party.

Things did not coordinate perfectly, and the event was a bit of a mish mosh, but the girls all had a great time. And let's face it, that's the really important part!
