Ahoy There!
Kevin took me out today to learn how to drive our boat. I want to be able to take the boat out during the week with the kids so that we can go swimming. Kevin warned me that I would probably be jerky with the throttle when I parked, but I pulled into our slip very smoothly. It is so important to me to be able to do things on my own and not to always have to rely on my husband (not that I don't enjoy relying on him for some things!). And now I'm looking forward to summer days spent on the lake with the kids--although I will always take another adult with me just in case something bad were to happen to me so the kids wouldn't be stranded on the lake. That sounds so morbid as I read it back. But I'm not willing to take those kinds of chances.

Hi Anne, love the updates today, particularly Olivia's dunking! Good for you! I think I tried on that bathing suit-- is it from Athleta?
Thanks! I've been taking the pictures but it's been so crazy around here that sitting down and putting them up hasn't been a priority. Kevin's been traveling a lot the past few weeks. And yes, the suit is Athleta. Love their suits!
So glad to see you being pro-active as a mom, and unafraid, not like you were as a child nor like your mom was, when it involved more challenging things. But having another adult along is truly needed, and sensible, and surely not a morbid thought. It's a huge responsibility on the water. You may be a safe driver, but others.....I know you all keep your life jackets on too, so that makes me feel better. I'm sure you keep your cell phone with you also, and a full tank of gas. Love, Mom
